Our story

Pherte started in a small backyard with two raised beds and far too many tomato plants. We kept notes on what worked, shared them with neighbours, and those notes grew into the guides you read here.

Today our writers and editors test advice in real gardens before it is published, and we update guides when better methods come along.

What we cover

What we believe

  • Advice that works

Every tip is tested in a real garden before we publish it.

  • Plain language

No jargon walls. We explain the why so you can adapt to your own garden.

  • Organic first

We favour methods that build healthy soil and protect pollinators.

  • Free for everyone

All of our guides are free to read, always.

How we review our guides

  • Advice is tested in real gardens before publishing.
  • Facts are checked against university extension services and horticultural research.
  • Guides show their publish date and are updated when better methods appear.
  • Errors are corrected promptly. Tell us if you spot one.
